About VASA

Vasa are an instrumental post-rock quartet from Glasgow. Since forming in 2011 they've firmly established themselves as one of the most exciting acts in the Scottish music scene, catching attention with with their own sublime brand of melodic, guitar-driven rock and a soaring instrumental style that has seen them compared to the likes of Mogwai, And So I Watch You From Afar and Adebisi Shank.

After being tipped as one of Scotland's bands to watch in 2012 Vasa didn't disappoint, with a series of storming live shows culminating in the release of their debut EP Never Have Dreams at the end of the year. Described as “one of the finest debuts in the post-rock genre in quite some time“ the record combines soaringly atmospheric soundscapes, bursts of frantic energy and moments of mellow elegance to exceptional effect.

In the last year the band hit the roads across the U.K, supporting for the likes of Maybeshewill, Deafheaven, Brontide, Nordic Giants and This Town Needs Guns as well as storming the festival scene with live sets at T in the Park and Wickerman. 2014 will see Vasa back in the recording studio, with new single Not a Cop to come and a full-length album in the works for later in the year alongside a two week UK tour with Brighton based band Shrine.
